Palestine Disposed

The aftermath of an airstrike on a beach in Gaza City on Wednesday. Four young Palestinian boys, all cousins, were killed. Credit Tyler Hicks/The New York Times by Abukar Osman Tuesday, July 22, 2014 On the afternoon of July 16th, at exactly 2:28p.m, the New York Times published an article titled “Four Boys Killed Playing on Gaza Beach”. By 11:50p.m the   article had gone through 7 published drafts and was retitled “Boys Drawn to Gaza Beach, and Into Center of Mideast Strife”. Amongst the final changes is the complete deletion of a sentence that states that the “Israeli Defense Forces acknowledged later that it was responsible for the ‘tragic outcome’ and had intended to hit Hamas militants”. The current sentence reads “The Israeli military acknowledge later that it has launched the strike, which it said was aimed at Hamas militants, and called the civilian deaths “a tragic outcome”. Comparing these strategically different drafts is an exercise in one-sided coverage.

It Was Putin's Missile!

By Pepe Escobar    July 19, 2014 " ICH " - " Asia Times " - -  And here's the spin war verdict: the current Malaysia Airlines tragedy - the second in four months - is "terrorism" perpetrated by "pro-Russian separatists", armed by Russia, and Vladimir Putin is the main culprit. End of story. Anyone who believes otherwise, shut up.  Why? Because the CIA said so. Because Hillary  "We came, we saw, he died"  Clinton said so. Because batshit crazy Samantha "R2P" Power said so - thundering at the UN, everything duly printed by the neo-con infested Washington Post. [1]  Because Anglo-American corporate media - from CNN to Fox (who tried to buy Time Warner, which owns CNN) - said so. Because the President of the United States (POTUS) said so. And mostly because Kiev had vociferously said so in the first place.  Right off the bat they were all lined up - the invariably hysterical reams of "experts&quo

Gaza: This Shameful Injustice Will Only End If The Cost Of It Rises

The idea that Israel is defending itself from unprovoked attacks is absurd. Occupied people have the right to resist By Seumas Milne July 18, 2014 " ICH " - " The Guardian " - -  For the third time in five years, the world’s fourth largest military power has launched a full-scale armed onslaught on one of its most deprived and overcrowded territories. Since Israel’s bombardment of the Gaza Strip began, just over a week ago, more than 200 Palestinians have been killed.  Nearly 80% of the dead are civilians , over 20% of them children. Around 1,400 have been wounded and 1,255 Palestinian homes destroyed. So far, Palestinian fire has killed one Israeli on the other side of the barrier that makes blockaded Gaza the world’s largest open-air prison. But instead of demanding a halt to Israel’s campaign of collective punishment against what is still illegally occupied territory, the western powers have blamed the victims for fighting back. If it weren’t f

A Nation in a Coma – By. Yusuf Deyr

n Share In the Morning when I wake up with a broken heart desperate for help. Trying to stand up with my tiny feeble legs. Dragging my feet like a lame deer. My knees and elbows are aching due to Arthritis.  So that I could barely pick up my feet when walking.  The icy tingling in my fingers and toes are very irritating.  Finally pushing hard myself towards my cracking mirror which is as old as my wisdom tooth.  Where I could see my aging face folded with wrinkles and deep scars. A V Shaped bald surrounded by African stiff hair standing like nails.  A bushy grey beard and moustache that is unfamiliar to a comb for months.  Depressed eyes located in deep sockets encircled by dark skin layers which is a sign of stress and depression.  Two spongy smashed cheeks decorated with stained teeth that can’t chew more than corn flakes.  A harsh voice passing through my dry dusty lips.  Coughing and sneezing at intervals. Starring back at my deep sunk wooden – bed t

Save Gaza Today; Tomorrow May Be Too Late!

By Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich July 15 , 2014 " ICH " - Emma Bull was right when she said, “Coincidence is the word we use when we can’t see the levers and pulleys.” The timing of Israel’s recent assault on Gaza is not coincidental. It is the culmination of several factors: The Hamas-Fatah unity; Israel’s escalation of illegal construction in occupied territory; the collapse of the peace talks; the success of the BDS movement; and the growing number of Europeans warning against investment in occupied territories.  Israel’s expansionist agenda was at odds with the growing lack of sympathy around the world.  So it pulled out its best card - the victim card. On June 12, three Israeli teens were kidnapped, thought by many to be anothe

Gaza: Israel Can Never Crush Our Will

By Abdul Bari Atwan July 14, 2014 " ICH " -  This is not the first time Israel had attacked the imprisoned people of Gaza, who cannot flee their bombs or bullets. Egypt has limited its response to offering safe passage via the Rafah crossing to wounded civilians in need of hospital treatment but not to terrified families seeking to flee the bombardment. For this our thanks are equally limited. The current conflict is different from those which have gone before for the following reasons: 1: Hamas missiles have managed to reach as far as the Lod airport terminal in Tel Aviv for the first time in the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict. This resulted in sirens being sounded and the disruption of air traffic for ten minutes. In psychological terms, Hamas fired a warning to international air

Mental Habits for Success

Sheikh Salman al-Oadah There are many mental habits that successful people possess. The most important of these are  as follows:   1. Fortitude   Thomas Edison is counted as the fourth most prolific inventor in human history. He had 1093 America patents registered in his name, as well as numerous patents registered in the United Kingdom, France, and Britain. He used to work eighteen hours a day, and he used to say: “Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.”   However, his wife used to complain: “He has no love life.”   From reading the biographies of successful people from the past and present, I have found that they all share the qualities of patience and perseverance. Success requires fortitude. Successful people are relentless and they keep trying. The good thing is that fortitude is a quality that can be learned and strengthened through practice.   Do not fear.
